Donald Trump has been attacking Joe Biden and claiming the president is lacking in cognitive ability. He then challenged his political rival to a cognitive test before having his own cognitive abilities questioned thanks to yet another gaffe.

According to the Associated Press, the former president and convicted felon running to be president again that President Joe Biden "should have to take a cognitive test," before he got confused as to who administered the test to him in the next sentence.

Trump was supposed to be referring to Texas Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson, who was the White House physician when Trump was still president. However, right after challenging Biden to a cognitive test, he called Jackson "Ronny Johnson," and threw his own cognitive abilities into question.

"He doesn't even know what the word 'inflation' means. I think he should take a cognitive test like I did," Trump said, before doing the gaffe just seconds later. "Doc Ronny Johnson. Does everyone know Ronny Johnson, congressman from Texas? He was the White House doctor, and he said I was the healthiest president, he feels, in history, so I liked him very much indeed immediately."

Jackson is currently one of Trump's biggest cronies on Capitol Hill, defending the former president vociferously. He was elected back in 2021 but served as the White House doctor before that.

It did not take long for the Biden campaign to capitalize on Trump's gaffe and point out the convicted felon's hypocrisy on the matter by posting a clip of the Trump speech. The former president has long criticized Biden for his gaffes but often does not recognize that he too has plenty of these mistakes.

Joe Biden Ramps Up Attacks Against Donald Trump Ahead of Their Debate

Biden is not just pointing out Donald Trump's hypocrisy with the cognitive test issue, but he is also pointing out Donald Trump's recent legal troubles, being the first president to be criminally indicted and the first president to be found guilty of a crime after leaving office.

In a new ad, Biden focused on Donald Trump's guilty verdict in the porn star hush money trial, as well his civil fraud trial losses. The ad contrasts Biden with Trump, stating, "This election is between a convicted criminal who's only out for himself and a president who is fighting for your family."

According to CNN, this is "the Biden campaign's most explicit strategic use so far of Trump's legal woes in a campaign message."

"What this ad is about is about showing the American people about the issue that's going to decide this campaign: wisdom, courage, character," said Biden campaign co-chair Mitch Landrieu during an appearance in CNN's "News Central."
