Donald Trump Flipflops on Issues While Also Making New Dehumanizing Suggestion About Migrants to UFC Head
Former president and convicted felon Donald Trump recently appeared at a Business Roundtable with top CEOs, where he suggested ideas that conflicted with his previous policies. Meanwhile, he also claimed he told UFC President Dana White about an idea about what to do with migrants that many found demeaning and racist.
During the Business Roundtable meeting, which included Apple CEO Tim Cook, or Tim Apple as Trump calls him, the former president suggested that we need brilliant people" in this country and vowed to keep American-educated talent at home.
This suggestion was made a week before the former president's appearance on "The All-In Podcast" on Thursday, with him also suggesting that foreign nationals who graduate from colleges and universities in the United States should "automatically" be given a green card upon graduation.
However, as Politico noted, this is a shift from his usual hardline rhetoric regarding immigration policy. This shift may be to align his political stances with the views of wealthy donors and business interests as Trump aims to get more wealthy donors.
"What Trump has always had an instinct for is figuring out how to scoop up people that he might not have previously thought he could get," Republican strategist Scott Jennings told Politico. "Now some people might say that's craven or he doesn't have any core values or whatever. But he's got to win the election."
Trump has been flip-flopping on issues such as these, with the most prominent example being his embrace of TikTok. Trump once called for the Chinese-owned app to be banned, but he has since been slamming the ban and praising the app. The shift came after President Joe Biden threw his support on the ban, with Trump opposing it since it would make Biden look good.
In his previous stance on migrants, he vowed to have mass deportations on his first day of office and suggested that migrants are "poisoning the blood" of this country. However, that rhetoric may have turned off donors as Trump had been strapped for cash for his campaign at that time. In a short time after promising big corporations to be welcoming to migrants, however, he made a racist suggestion regarding them.

Donald Trump Says He Told UFC Head Dana White He Wants a 'Migrant League of Fighters'
After suggesting to CEOs he would welcome more migrants, the former president stated that he floated the idea of having a "migrant league of fighters" to UFC President Dana White, with CNN noting that he was "employing dehumanizing language to describe people who enter the US illegally."
"I said, 'Dana, I have an idea: Why don't you set up a migrant league of fighters and have your regular league of fighters. And then you have the champion of your league - these are the greatest fighters in the world - fight the champion of the migrants. I think the migrants' guy might win, that's how tough they are," he told the crowd.
However, Trump later admitted that the UFC head did not like the idea, saying, "He didn't like that idea too much, but actually, it's not the worst idea I've ever had."
Joe Biden Campaign Reacts to Latest Donald Trump Comments on Migrants
Donald Trump repeated that claim regarding what he told UFC president Dana White about migrants in another rally. However, it did not take long for the Biden Campaign to pounce on that suggestion.
"Fitting that convicted felon Donald Trump spent his time at a religious conference threatening to round up Latinos, bragging about ripping away Americans' freedoms, and promising to be even more extreme if he regains power," said Biden campaign spokesperson Sarafina Chitika. "Trump's incoherent, unhinged tirade showed voters in his own words that he is a threat to our freedoms and is too dangerous to be let anywhere near the White House again."
