To the chants of "Lock Him Up!" from a big crowd of protesters, former Donald Trump advisor Steve Bannon finally went to prison for Contempt of Congress. Before that, however, he went to a press conference with Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, where the two were savagely heckled by the crowd.

The former Trump administration White House chief strategist was sentenced to four months in October 2022 after being found guilty of two counts of contempt of Congress. He failed to respond to a subpoena issued to him by the bipartisan January 6 Committee but has since stayed out of prison after employing Donald Trump's infamous "Delay Delay Delay" tactics.

However, all those delays ran out and after the Supreme Court rejected his last ditch effort, he finally went to a federal prison in Connecticut where he tried to look defiant during his press conference by Greene but was instead continually mocked by the crowd.

According to Newsweek, while he and Marjorie Taylor Greene were speaking, protesters interrupted and could be heard chanting, "Lock him up! Lock him up!" while also booing the two MAGA personalities.

"I'm a political prisoner of Nancy Pelosi. I'm a political prisoner of Merrick Garland. I'm a political prisoner of Joe Biden," Bannon claimed, even though the Supreme Court that just ruled in favor of Donald Trump's immunity claims was the one that decided his fate.

"Where's the Democrats, where are they? They're nowhere," noted Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was met with boos. She accused the January 6 committee of being "illegitimate," and added that Bannon's contempt conviction should be dismissed even though the Supreme Court has already ruled on it.

Throughout their press conference, Greene and Bannon were constantly heckled as demonstrators drowned out what the two MAGA stalwarts were trying to say with cowbells and chants of "Lock him up!"

Steve Bannon Claims MAGA Army Is Ready as He Reports to Prison

During that same press conference, Bannon stated that he was "proud of going to prison today," adding, "I have not only no regrets, I'm proud of what I did."

In an interview with the BBC. Bannon claimed that he was unconcerned about missing a crucial part of Trump's campaign because there is a "MAGA Army" that is ready to ensure the former president defeats Joe Biden in November's election.

"I've served my country now for the last 10 or so years focusing on this," he told the British media giant. "If I have to do it in a prison, I do it in a prison - it makes no difference at all," he added, even though he spent a massive amount of effort trying to stay out of prison.
