Stormy Daniels Raises $1 Million for Safe House After Death Threats from Donald Trump Supporters
Former adult film star Stormy Daniels has received a slew of death threats since Donald Trump was convicted of 34 felonies in New York. She took to GoFundMe to raise money for a safe house for her and her daughter, and she has since raised over $1 million already.
The GoFundMe campaign was not actually started by Daniels herself but by her friend and former manager, Dwayne Crawford, who asked the public to come to the former porn star's aid after she was bombarded with harassment, including death threats, on social media from Donald Trump's supporters.
"It's become unsafe for her family and her pets," said Crawford on the crowdfunding campaign's page, which was launched last June 26 and had a goal of raising $1 million for the Stormy Daniels safe house. "Stormy needs help to relocate her family to somewhere they can feel safe and live on their terms.
"She needs assistance to be able to continue to pay the mounting fees so that Trump doesn't just win because his pocketbook seems endless," the crowdfunding campaign page added. It has now met that goal and more.
Stormy Daniels, who was a popular adult film star, met and slept with Donald Trump during a golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, California, while his wife, Melania, was still recovering from giving birth to Baron Trump.
As he ran for election in 2016, the Trump campaign was in a panic after the "Grab her by the p*ssy" incident, which led to Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, being paid $130,000 to keep quiet about an extramarital sexual encounter as it might turn off Trump's conservative Republican voters.
While hush money payments themselves were not illegal, the act of covering it up using campaign money that was supposed to fund Trump's election campaign and the various falsifying business records violations led to the former president being found guilty of all 34 charges.
Stormy Daniels Talks About Revealing Details of Her Sexual Encounter with Donald Trump
Before she raised a million dollars for her safe house, Stormy Daniels recently sat down with MSNBC's Rachel Maddow for her first interview since Donald Trump became a convicted felon.
"I have to tell you, Rachel, like, and I did write about this in my book when I was going in meetings and prosecutors over and over. And they were nice people. They tried to be gentle with me. They were asking me the questions over and over because they wanted to make sure that they were doing their job correctly. They were also probably trying to prepare me for how the defense would be for me," she said.
"Although no one could have prepared me for how awful that woman was to me and how much she slut-shamed me, or tried to," added Daniels. "They asked me such...horrific, specific questions. Like, 'Did his tongue dart in and out of your mouth?' And I don't even know if you can use some of this. Just cut it out-'When he was touching your breast, did he, like, flick or roll your nipples? Like, what did his skin feel like? Can you describe it?'"
Stormy Daniels Warns We Should Be Worried About Donald Trump Getting a Second Term
As for what she thinks about a second Donald Trump term, she simply told Maddow, "Shouldn't we all be worried about that?"
"I think that he will make - try to make even more of an example out of me, you know?" she added, talking about Trump's promise of seeking revenge against those who exposed him or he feels betrayed him.
