"Bob's Burgers" voice actor and January 6 insurrectionist Jay Johnston has now pleaded guilty to interfering with police officers who were trying to defend the Capitol on January 6. He was one of the thousands who were whipped up by former President Donald Trump in his efforts to overturn his election loss to Joe Biden on January 6, 2021.

The 55-year-old Los Angeles native pleaded guilty to the felony charge of civil disorder for his actions during the insurrection. He now faces a maximum punishment of a five-year prison sentence because of this.

According to the Associated Press, Johnston is scheduled to be sentenced by US District Judge Carl Nichols on October 7. The estimated sentencing guidelines showed that the "Bob's Burgers" voice actor is recommended to serve a prison term that ranges between eight to 14 months. However, the judge is not bound by the terms of his plea agreement with the prosecutors.

Jay Johnston was arrested last June, and he was seen on video footage being one of the insurrectionists who were "pushing against police and helping rioters who attacked officers guarding an entrance to the Capitol in a tunnel on the Lower West Terrace."

In his plea agreement, Johnston said that he "used his cellphone to record rioters as they broke through barricades and sent police officers retreating." He was also seen helping one pro-Trump insurrectionist who was pepper sprayed with a water bottle.

He also stole a riot shield from a police officer and passed it to another rioter. He then joined them in "collectively pushing against police officers guarding the tunnel entrance."

'Bob's Burgers' Voice Actor Jay Johnston Surrendered to the FBI Years After January 6

The FBI had been looking for the actor since March 2021, putting out photos of the actor soon after the January 6 Capitol Insurrection. However, because there were literally thousands of insurrectionists, he was not identified immediately, even though he had previously appeared on popular TV shows like "Better Call Saul" and "The Sarah Silverman Program." He also appeared as one of the brawling anchors in "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy."

According to Deadline, he soon surrendered himself to the FBI in its field office in Los Angeles. He was eventually freed on $25,000 bail before having a plea deal with prosecutors.

Jay Johnston Banned From 'Bob's Burgers' Over January 6 Capitol Insurrection

While his most famous role was as pizzeria owner Jimmy Pesto in "Bob's Burgers," he has now become more infamous for his role during the January 6 Capitol Insurrection. Because of this, the show where he became famous has now banned him.

A report from The Daily Beast noted that the show's staff "are no longer allowing Johnston to voice his recurring character-Jimmy Pesto Sr.-on the critically lauded Fox show," with him essentially being banned from ever voicing the character ever again.

His character had been a fan favorite of the show as his pizzeria is a notable rival of main character Bob's business, while also serving as the complete foil to Bob himself.
