New leaked audio showed Donald Trump talking to Variety editor and author Ramin Setoodeh about how he can justify the "horrible" and "evil" things he had been doing. The former president and convicted felon says that it is all about one thing: ratings.

The audio recording was first released via MSNBC as Setoodeh spoke with host Nicholle Wallace about how Trump's reality show, "The Apprentice," managed to impact the 2016 election.

"So, if I went back to NBC right now to do something, they would do anything I wanted to do, showbiz-wise. I'm talking about," the former president told Setoodeh in the recording. "Doing a show, anything I wanted to do right now, 100 percent."

Trump justified his behavior by explaining that "one thing I know about, that, business - and I learned that business better than anybody else could learn a business in a short period of time - It's all about one thing: ratings. If you have ratings, you can be the meanest, most horrible human being in the world. There's only one thing that matters: ratings."

"You can be nice, or you can be mean. You can be evil. You can be horrible," he added. You can be crude or elegant. There's only one thing that matters, and that's ratings. If you don't have ratings, it doesn't matter."

Trump also discussed the possibility of "The Apprentice" returning on NBC, with the former president telling the magazine editor that there was absolutely a chance he would restart the show. However. Setoodeh noted, "I found no evidence of that."

Donald Trump Interviewer Says We Did Not See the Real Donald Trump at the Debate

Ramin Setoodeh is releasing a new book titled "Apprentice in Wonderland," and he talked about what he learned about the former president through interviews with him. He noted that "we didn't get to see the real Donald Trump" during the recent presidential debate against Joe Biden on CNN, adding that he "retreated" and "kind of held back."

He explained that the former reality show star and convicted felon has "gone into the boardroom, and when someone is self-imploding or self-destructing, and I could see it in Donald Trump's eyes, he could see that he didn't need to do much and so he held back, and we didn't get to the see the real Donald Trump."

Donald Trump Got Very Triggered Thanks to Nancy Pelosi

Soon after the debate, Trump got repeatedly slammed for his usual lies, including former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who described Trump's performance at the debate as a "manifesto of lies" and recalled when she shredded a copy of his State of the Union address in 2020. This led Trump to go on another rant and was clearly triggered.

Trump once again repeated his debunked claims that Pelosi was responsible for the lack of security on January 6, even though it was already proven that he held government forces back and also egged on the crowd. Trump claimed that footage from Pelosi's daughter showed she was responsible for January 6, but in reality, it showed the then-House Speaker desperately calling military contacts to ask why the National Guard was not yet mobilized.

"He thinks I planned my own assassination? He's sicker than I thought," she stated in an interview.
