Actress Shannen Doherty, best known for her roles on hit 90s TV shows "Beverley Hills 90210" and "Charmed," has died after her long battle with cancer. She was 53 years old.

"It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty," Leslie Sloan, Doherty's publicist, said in a recently released statement. "The devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie."

According to BBC News, Shannon Doherty has been in the public eye for over four decades and broke into the scene when she played Brenda Walsh on four seasons of "Beverley Jills 90210." The series was about a group of Beverly Hills teenagers and their various relationship and family issues.

Doherty had been battling cancer for almost a decade now, being first diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2015. She did undergo a mastectomy, radiation, and chemotherapy, leading to her revealing that she was in remission in 2017. However, two years later, her cancer returned.

She has always been open about her battle with cancer and has constantly been documenting it on social media. However, in a June 2023 Instagram video, she revealed that her cancer had already spread to her brain, but she still stood defiant and said that she remains "committed to battling the disease despite it spreading to her bones."

"I'm not done with living. I'm not done with loving. I'm not done with creating," she stated in a 2023 interview. She has remained one of the biggest voices on cancer in Hollywood right until her death.
