The Colombia vs. Argentina Final at the Copa America in Miami had proven to be very chaotic after the president of the Colombian Football Federation and his son were arrested for hitting security after three stadium employees denied them access in what has proven to be an embarrassing night for Colombian soccer where they also lost to World Cup champions Argentina.

Ramón Jesurún Sr., 71, and his son Ramón Jamil Jesurún, 43, were arrested in Miami following the scuffle and both men were charged with three counts of battery against a specified official or employee. This has proven to be even more damning towards the elder Jesurun as he also serves as the vice president of CONMEBOL, which runs the Copa America.

According to USA Today, police reports have noted that the Colombia Football head's son grabbed a uniformed security officer around the neck and dragged him to the ground before kicking him in the head. he also pushed and pulled a female security guard and raised his fist at her but did not strike her. The other security guard was transported to a local hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

There was also a massive scuffle as a total of 27 people were arrested by police, while another 55 were ejected from the stadium in what was a very chaotic final match.

Stadium Security Struggled to Contain Crowd During Copa America Argentina Vs. Colombia Final

The match was held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens and while Argentina celebrated its championship victory in Lionel Messi's final Copa America tournament, it was marred by scuffles, a stampede almost happening, and overall chaos off the field.

A spokesperson for the stadium stated that kick-off was delayed for more than an hour after "thousands of fans without tickets attempted to forcibly enter the stadium," with photos showing massive overcrowding outside the gates.

Security soon reopened the gates "for a short period of time to all fans in order to prevent stampedes and serious injury at the perimeter" because "There was serious concern of fans being crushed in an attempt to enter. Law enforcement and security personnel were immediately deployed throughout the stadium and surrounding area to keep fans as safe as possible in light of this unprecedented situation."

The incident is sure to spark some concerns for FIFA which had already approved the Hard Rock Stadium for the 2026 World Cup to be held in North America, particularly the US, Mexico, and Canada.

Argentina Celebrates Win, Lionel Messi's Final Copa America

Even though there were chaotic scenes in Miami, back in Argentina, fans went wild as expected as their heroes in sky blue and white took home another Copa America title in a much-needed victory for a country in deep economic and social crisis.

Argentina is currently in a massive crisis, with an inflation rate of over 270% and almost 60% of the country's 45 million people are now living in poverty. Yet, soccer brought them together as Messi, for one final time, led the team and the country to victory.

"Everything is horrible now," a fan told the Associated Press. "Just when you think things can't get more expensive, they do."

Despite this, many took to the streets in celebration of the victory as if they did not have any problems at all.
