Justin Timberlake Stops Busy Day to Talk with Make-a-Wish Kid [PIC]
Pop star Justin Timberlake took time out of his busy schedule Tuesday to help a young girl who recently underwent brain surgery.
Tina DiLascio was having a bad day on Tuesday. She had gotten lost on her way to pick up documents from Manhattan and paid an excessive amount of money for parking.
Her day changed, however, when she spotted Timberlake.
"I started screaming like a teenager," DiLascio said in an interview with ABC News.
The former *NSYNC member was also having a busy day. According to DiLascio, he was rejecting fan requests for autographs and pictures in order to continue with his tight press tour schedule.
DiLascio managed to get Timberlake's attention when she told him about her daughter Giana. Giana is 13-years-old and a Make-a-Wish Foundation kid and had underwent brain surgery last year to save her life. The surgery was needed because Giana was suffering blockage in her brain. She is now a straight-A student.
"He stopped, turned around, came over to me and said, 'Where is she?'" DiLascio said.
DiLascio then left quickly to find her daughter.
"I thought it was a joke," Giana said. "I couldn't believe it. I'm still in shock. We talked about the VMAs, [MTV Video Music Awards] which I thought he was great in."
Timberlake's next move was the most surprising part of the entire ordeal.
"Security was saying no pics," Giana said. "He looked at them, and then my phone, and said, 'I'm going to take a photo.'"
That Tuesday also happened to be the one-year anniversary of the DiLascio's Make-a-Wish trip.
According to DiLascio, Timberlake was very humble, especially considering his recent success at the VMAs.
"It's just about paying it forward," DiLascio said. "It may sound cheesy, but we thought her condition was a death sentence, and it ended up being a life sentence."
"I just want to change someone's life too, like [Timberlake] did mine," Giana said.
The photo is now Giana's screen saver on her cell phone. The picture of Timberlake and Giana can be found here.
