Kanye West GQ Cover 2014: 'Yeezus' Rapper on 'How to Dress Like a God'
Hip-hop and fashion icon Kanye West is on the cover of GQ's August issue, where he shares "Yeezus wisdom."
On the publication's latest cover, the 37-year-old rapper undoubtedly showcased his modeling skills. He gazes straight into the camera, while putting both hands into the pockets of his signature leather pants and sporting a deep V-neck plain white T-shirt under a staple tan coat. He completes his simple ensemble by wrapping thin gold chains around his neck.
Also, GQ's summer issue promises its readers to reveal West's noteworthy advice on life.
"Kanye West tells us how to grow up, survive a wedding, stay outrageous and dress like a god," the cover reads.
"Kanye West, man of many talents, style god of epic proportions, new father, devoted husband, and now, a GQ cover," the magazine's website states, praising Yeezy's career success and life achievements.
The Chicago emcee's wife Kim Kardashian took to her Instagram account on Friday, July 18, to show off West's new magazine cover.
"So sexy! My husband on the cover of GQ shot by Patrick Demarchelier!!!" the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" reality star wrote the following caption.
Meanwhile, a throwback footage of a 19-year-old Kanye West freestyle rapping has recently surfaced online. The fresh-faced, thinner-looking rapper, way before his stardom, is seen taking the stage at the 1996 grand opening of Fat Beats' new location, a legendary record store and center for underground hip-hop talent.
In his impressive 90-second verse, the "New Slaves" rapper demonstrates his lyrical prowess and rhyming skills, talking about his technique by referencing Canadian-American singer Alanis Morissette and her then-hit "Isn't It Ironic": "Tryna flex the technique, you get blasted with a TEC / That sh*t is mad ironic like Alanis Morissette."
West also self-proclaims how he is from the future, copying his grandchildren's style. "It ain't original because I stole from the future," he raps.
