The second season of "Arrow" may have had a happy ending, but it will quickly be taken away in the upcoming season.

Andrew Kreisberg, the show's executive producer, ended season two on a happier note because of how dark the first season's ending was, but he knows things have to be shaken up again, noted Entertainment Weekly.

"The minute you give your characters happiness, you have to yank it away from him," Kreisberg said, as he quoted Joss Whedon.

Kreisberg also said he had put so much pressure on himself that writing the beginning of season two was a real challenge.

Lead actor Stephen Amell as well as some other cast members were on hand to talk about the show. Arnell explained that he felt responsible for whether or not the show was successful.

"I remember sitting this ballroom [two years ago] and making a promise to the people who were here that we were going to work really hard and the show wasn't going to suck," he said. "It sounds simple, but that's what drives us every day."

It's been revealed that Thea is Malcolm's daughter, but actress Willa Holland wouldn't reveal too much about what the future of her character is.

But she did explain that she has been going to the gym and insinuated that there would be changes coming for her character. There will also be more answers on what happened when Willa and Malcolm met inside the limo in Season 2.

Brandon Routh, who is going to play The Atom, will be involved in a love triangle with Felicity and Oliver. He will also add some lightness to the show.

"We were looking to add a lighter hero, someone a little more fun, a little bit Superman-so we got Superman," the producers said.

The show returns Oct. 8 at 8 p.m.
