Several "Dancing With the Stars" icons spent time reminiscing last week.

Reigning professional dancer champion Maksim Chmerkovskiy recently met up with his Season 14 winning partner, Meryl Davis. Chmerkovskiy, 34, took a photo of the reunion and posted it onto his Instagram page.

"Got to see this one! Finally! Thanks for breakfast @meryledavis," he wrote in the caption.

Davis, 27, also took to social media to show some love for her former dancing partner. She re-posted Chmerkovskiy's picture on her own Instagram page.

"Missed this one @maksimc," she wrote in the caption.

Meanwhile, Parade published an excerpt from professional "Dancing With the Stars" dancer Derek Hough's new memoir, "Taking the Lead: Lessons From a Life in Motion," this week.

In the excerpt, Hough, 29, details his decision to become a regular on ABC's dancing competition show. He first did a guest appearance on the show during Season 3 alongside his sister, Julianne Hough, who was already a regular.

"After the show, one of the producers, Rob Wade, came up to me backstage. 'Hey, Derek. Great job. You have any interest in joining us next season?'" Hough wrote, according to the magazine. "I didn't even need a minute to think it over. 'Nope,' I replied. 'Thanks, but it's not really what I want to do.'"

Hough then went back to England to the home of Mark Ballas, who was not a "Dancing With the Stars" regular at the time. While Hough was reconsidering his decision, Ballas also got an offer to join the show after sending in an audition tape.

"'Dude, if we're going to do this, then let's do it together,' I told him," Hough wrote. "So that was it. We literally just packed our guitars and one suitcase apiece, and boarded a plane."

Season 19 of "Dancing With the Stars" begins Sept. 15 on ABC.
