Fantasy Football 2014 Sleepers,Rankings & Draft: 5 NFL Sleepers To Consider This Season
The National Football League preseason is already more than halfway complete and fans pretty much have a gist for how certain teams and players will perform this season.
The best players, like Peyton Manning and LeSean McCoy will get drafted early, but there's always a few players who could fly under the radar.
It was busy offseason for many teams. This season, we're going to see a lot of new faces in new places, which will play a big impact on fantasy football. With that being said, Latin Post.com presents five "sleepers" for the upcoming NFL season:
Vincent Jackson
Vincent Jackson has to be the most underrated wide receiver in all of football. He doesn't play in a big market area, he didn't go to the big name college and he wasn't a first round pick. So what? Jackson has put together some of the highest-receiving numbers in the league over the last three seasons.
Jackson has eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark five of the last six seasons. He failed to do so in 2010 because he missed 11 games. Over the last three seasons, Jackson has 3,714 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns. At just 31 years old, he shows no signs of slowing down.
Doug Martin
There's a lot of sleepers and hidden gems in Tampa this season. Martin, a former first round selection from Boise State has a tremendous career ahead of him. During his rookie year, Martin ran for 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns. Unfortunately, last season he only played six games because of a shoulder injury.
A lot of people have forgotten just how good Martin is and can be. Martin will likely fall into the later rounds for Fantasy Football considering his young age and injured 2013 season. Certainly worth a pick in this year's draft.
Pierre Garcon
While Robert Griffin III had a poor sophomore season last year, Pierre Garcon had a tremendous season. He set career highs in yards with 1,346 and receptions with 113. Garcon isn't viewed as a top tier wide out because he's never led the league in yards or touchdowns, but he's worth a late round selection.
Newly acquired wide receiver DeSean Jackson will open up the field for Garcon and will eliminate any possibility of a double team. Jackson and Garcon may just be the best receiver duo this upcoming season.
Kenny Britt
This is a big risk, but it may pay off. Britt is a talented receiver who will be playing with the St. Louis Rams this season. Throughout his five year career, Britt has never been surrounded with a highly talented offensive unit.
Sam Bradford isn't the best quarterback in the NFL, but a change of scenery could be a good thing for Britt, who also has very good hands; he's a good route runner, too.
Ryan Tannehill
Tannehill gets a lot of criticism, but he's better than most people give him credit for. Last season, Tannehill threw for 3,913 yards and 24 touchdowns with 17 interceptions. He's a good backup quarterback to draft in the later rounds, especially because the AFC East doesn't feature the best defenses. This year, wide receiver Mike Wallace is expected to have a huge season with Tannehill throwing the ball to him.
