The E! Network is placing its show "Fashion Police" on hold while its host, Joan Rivers, remains in the hospital. The entertainment news channel said it is suspending production in a statement on Tuesday.

"We will not be producing a 'Fashion Police' this week or next as we await Joan and Melissa's return in front and behind the camera," E! reported. "E! will be airing two 'E! From Fashion Week' specials that will deliver the latest news and information from the highly anticipated event."

The legendary comedian was put in intensive care Aug. 28 at Mount Sinai Hospital after she stopped breathing following an outpatient throat surgery. Rivers was placed in a medically induced coma, and her daughter and former co-host, Melissa, said she is still on life support.

"On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we've received," she said Tuesday. "At this time she does remain on life support. I know my mother would be overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of kindness and I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers."

The "Fashion Police" host was taken off of sedation Tuesday, and everyone is awaiting news as she reportedly slowly comes out of the coma.

Her co-hosts on the E! Network show, Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos, along with many other celebrities and comedians have been sharing their support of Rivers' recovery via Twitter.

"Praying for @Joan_Rivers and @MelRivers. Even though Joan's the strongest woman I know, every single prayer counts. I love you, Joan," Rancic said.

Kelly Osbourne tweeted, "4 the first time in years I got down on my knees & prayed tonight! I encourage U 2 do the same 4 @Joan_Rivers my grandma! #inconsolable."

Kotsiopoulos posted an inspiration quote to his Twitter account that read "Always believe that something wonderful is about to happen," and captioned it "I love you @Joan_Rivers and hope to see you soon."
