'Glee' Season 6 Preview News: Some Original Cast Members Slated to Return, But Who?
"Glee" may be saying goodbye after six seasons, but it's definitely planning on doing it in style.
For the final season, the Fox show is reportedly bringing back four original cast members, notes Digital Spy.
Jenna Ushkowitz, Mark Salling, Dianna Agron and Jayma Mays are supposed to make their return to "Glee." Before now, it hadn't been said whether or not they would make an appearance, though all the characters have returned after their run as regulars on the show ended.
Ushkowitz' character, Tina Cohen-Chang, was on the show until Season 5. She left when Cohen-Chang was accepted to Brown University.
There isn't too much information about what the four cast members' roles will look like, but perhaps Salling and Agron's characters will be tied to Lea Michele's character, Rachel Berry. In the last season, Berry will be once again living in Ohio because she has failed as an actress in New York.
It appears that Season 6 will feature a bigger cast, as seven new characters will also be introduced.
The original ending for the show changed when Cory Monteith, who played Finn, passed away. Ryan Murphy explained that his team wanted to get a clean start after that.
"We collective -- Brad, Ian and myself -- made a decision that the freshest thing to do was a complete, clean start," he said. "We accelerated all those New York stories, and I think that was the right choice. I think that gave the show a burst of new energy. It feels like a new show to me in that it's much more young-adult than it's ever been."
For the ending, Murphy explained that it would "return" Rachel and Mr. Schue to "their origins." But he also plans on showing how far the characters have come since the first season.
The final season also won't pick up right where we left the characters in season five. There will be a time jump.
