YouTube sensation and current "Dancing With the Stars" contestant Bethany Mota is the cover girl for Seventeen Magazine's October issue, The Hollywood Life reports.

Though she has over 7 million YouTube subscribers and endorsements from various companies including Target and Aeropostale, Mota revealed that life prior to her success was difficult.

"I was kind of going through a rough time in my life. I was being bullied and I didn't have a lot of confidence and I always wanted to make videos," Bethany told Seventeen Magazine. "I used YouTube as my distraction."

Since using YouTube "as a distraction" Mota has garnered attention from many supporters...and haters, she admits. Despite the hate she's received from cyber bullies, Mota insists that she remains positive through it all.

"I say do not respond with hate, because you might make that person feel terrible, and you feel terrible. So who wants that? Respond with positivity or just ignore it and don't let it get to you. And focus on all those positive comments," she explains.

One particular comment that Mota has focused on is a recent comment made by Taylor Swift praising the YouTube guru for her debut performance on "Dancing With the Stars."

"Oh my God, LOVE HER, oh my God. @BethanyMota @derekhough @DancingABC #BAEthany," Swift tweeted on Tuesday.

Mota then responded to Swift's tweeted with equal excitement and praise. "Thanks to @taylorswift13 my new nickname is #BAEthany literally LOOOOOOVE her so much," Mota tweeted.

She continued, "wait what is my freaking life rn."

Mota is the first YouTube star to become a contestant on "Dancing With the Stars," the Chicago Tribune reports.

"With every day that passes YouTube stars go more and more into the mainstream," said "DWTS" executive producer Rob Wade about Mota on the debut show of the season. "Whereas a couple of years ago you might say you're going into a niche market, there's no way you can say that anymore."
