Could fans soon see pop sensation Enrique Iglesias and his father, Latin music icon Julio Iglesias, in a never-before-seen duet?

In an April 2013 interview with People en Español, Julio said he would most likely "never" sing with Enrique because it would be "too commercial," according to a translation by Huffington Post.

Enrique, 39, seems to be more open-minded about teaming up with his 71-year-old father, however.

"For me, a duet with my father would [be] something truly special," he told Huffington Post last week. "But also, I'd try to treat it the same way I treat all my collaborations that I do, and that's by focusing primarily on the song."

According to the singer, who dropped his 10th studio album, the bilingual "Sex and Love," in March, the priority is making good music.

"I think in the [end] what people, the public and my fans deserve are good songs," he explained. "Not just because you have two artists that are popular, or two artists that have had success in their genres, are you going to record a song. So what's important for me would be the song."

Making good music doesn't seem to be too hard for the "Bailando" singer, as he learned on Sept. 24 that he has been nominated for five Latin Grammy awards this year.

"I woke up and I had an email congratulating me," he said of his nominations. "The Latin Grammys are a great honor. Unfortunately this year, for now, we have a concert in Europe planned [that night] ... I couldn't have imagined that we would be nominated."

"Bailando" itself, which features Sean Paul, received four nominations: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Urban Performance and Best Urban Song.

Enrique denies rumors that he did not like the song after first recording it.

"That's incorrect," he explained. "'Bailando' is a song that Descemer Bueno and I wrote around two years ago, but what happened was that it was as a demo. Descemer left for Cuba and later came back to Miami and recorded it with Gente de Zona, and everything started there."
