The Kansas City Chiefs remain unbeaten after they stifled the Philadelphia Eagles, 26-16 at NFL's Thursday Night Football.

Now coaching the Chiefs, the former Eagles coach of 13 years, Andy Reid, made some sort of homecoming as his new squad battled the Phillys at Lincoln Financial Field. But the win was as sweet as it could be - even sweeter now that Kansas City has an unblemished record starting the season at 3-0. In 2012, the team posted a record of 2-14.

"Yeah, it was different," Reid said at the after game press conference, reports NFL.com. "I was on the opposite side of the field than I normally am at. But I can't tell you that I was caught up in that part of it."

It was the defense of the Chiefs that caused problems for the Eagles who fell to 1-2 following a loss to the San Diego Chargers last Sunday. The team forced four turnovers and had Eagles QB Michael Vick sacked six times. At one point, the quarterback limped off after a fumble and had obviously hurt his ankle. No serious injuries were reported though.

It was more than a comeback for Reid as well. Aside from a convincing win with two 10-point quarters, the return to Philadelphia also gave him a chance to reunite with the Eagles - a team he led to 140 wins and six division titles.

"It was great to see the players that are here," the new Chiefs coach said. "I had a chance to talk to them after the game."

Notably, after the game Vick gave his old coach a hug. Not forgetting the pride he gave to the state, Philly fans also gave Reid a standing ovation as he entered the stadium.

As for the Eagles loss, Vick says it was his dismal performance that may have cost them the game.

"I take full responsibility," Vick said, reports NFL.com. "I didn't get the offense going. I didn't get the tempo going. We didn't play well by any stretch. We didn't execute at all and we didn't play the way we're capable of."

The Philadelphia Eagles will be facing the Denver Broncos next, while the Kansas City Chiefs will fight the New York Giants at home. Both games are scheduled for Sunday.
