Former "The Bachelor" contestant Lesley Murphy is sharing her thoughts on Chris Soules, the next star of "The Bachelor."

Murphy competed for Sean Lowe's heart in Season 17 of the ABC reality dating show (Lowe ultimately married contestant Catherine Giudici). In an interview with Wetpaint Entertainment, the reality star shared her opinion on Soules, although she said she can't predict how he will fare on the show.

"He seems like a really sweet guy -- but kind of quiet," she said.

Before being announced as the next Bachelor, Soules spent time with Republican politicians in his home state of Iowa, such as Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a potential 2016 presidential candidate.

Murphy, who supported Democrat Barack Obama in his 2008 campaign and has worked as an executive assistant for Paul Tewes, a Democratic strategist, said she does not know if Soules' political side would mesh well with "The Bachelor."

"It's usually very unbiased -- it's not left wing or right wing," she said. "When they throw Texas Gov. Rick Perry in there, though, that's pretty much swinging hard right."

Since Soules' season of "The Bachelor" will air in 2015, political discussion would be relevant, but Murphy wouldn't recommend it.

"It's hard to mix reality show and politics and come out successful," she said.

Although the 27-year-old reality star does not where in the globe the show will take its contestants and star, she does have some suggestions.

"I would love to see them somewhere in South America," Murphy, who runs a travel blog, said. "They've never come to South America before. It would make for great TV because I've never seen the landscapes like South America has, it has everything. It would do really well on TV. I think it would be awesome to go to Brazil or Argentina."

Season 19 of "The Bachelor" starts in January.
