Relationships will be at the helm of conflict between the geeky gang on "The Big Bang Theory'" this Monday.

In the previous episode, which was entitled "The Hook-Up Reverberation," Penny was perplexed as to why Raj's girlfriend Emily seemed to dislike her. She also confessed that she didn't get a good feeling after meeting Emily.

"I kind of got the sense that she didn't like me," Penny told the girls in confidence, adding, "It's just the vibe I got," according to Heavy.com.

Eventually, Emily revealed the source of her contention, which was over the fact that Raj told her that he had a romantic encounter with Penny.

"Raj told me that a while ago, you hooked up," Emily told Penny.

Although Penny tried to down play it, Emily asked if they were kissing while they were naked, forcing Penny to give in to her argument.

Meanwhile, Sheldon made note of an interesting relationship fact around the lunch table, telling the guys that a research study revealed that a person will lose one or two close friends once they enter into a romantic relationship.

"Look, I'm not the kind of guy who drops his friends just because he's in a relationship," Raj snapped in response.

However, Leonard pressed the issue, asking Raj what he would do if Emily happened to not like them.

"Hey, you're my dear friends, you'll get a Christmas card for a couple of years and then you're dead to me," he answered.

Promo videos from the next episode, titled "The Focus Attenuation," teased that Amy and Bernadette will bond over mega size cocktail drinks and bashing Penny for choosing to study rather than hang out.

In the meantime, the boys make an attempt to use their time away from their girlfriends to buckle down and work.

CBS released a synopsis of the episode, which states "Amy and Bernadette accuse Penny of being a "buzzkill" after she gets an email from work during their Vegas weekend. Meanwhile, the guys try to invent something cool, but only come up with new ways to procrastinate."

"The Big Bang Theory" Season 8, Episode 4, "The Focus Attenuation," will air Monday, Oct. 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
