This week, Ann Romney has been very insistent that that she is over her husband, Mitt Romney, running for president.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times published Monday, Ann said she and her five sons are not interested in Mitt running for president for a third time.

"Done," she said. "Completely. Not only Mitt and I are done, but the kids are done. Done. Done. Done."

Instead, she said other "really interesting" Republicans can vie for the Republican Party nomination, including Wisconsin Rep. Paul D. Ryan, who was Romney's vice president candidate in the 2012 election, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Ohio Sen. Rob Portman.

"We're going to see a nice field shake out," Ann said.

On Tuesday, Ann addressed the possibility again, telling The Washington Post that "at this moment, it's 'no.'"

"Honestly, we'll have to see what happens, but we have no plans and I don't imagine circumstances changing," she continued.

On Thursday, Ann reiterated her stance on another presidential run by Mitt, who ran for the Republican nomination in 2008 (it ultimately went to Arizona Sen. John McCain) and won the nomination in 2012 but lost the election to current President Barack Obama.

"At this point in time, that's where we are mentally is done," Ann said CNN's "New Day" on Thursday morning.

Ann added that Mitt "absolutely agrees" but that "we never say never."

"[Mitt is] one competent guy who is a really great leader," she continued.

According to Ann, losing the 2012 election to Obama put a strain on the Romneys.

"At election night, we all looked at each other ... and we said we gave it everything we had," she said. "We didn't have an ounce left to give. Emotionally and mentally, that's where we still are."

Still, the door remains open, as Ann proceeded to list reasons why her husband would make a great president. For example, she said he would handle "what's happening in Russia differently," which could potentially help in a 2016 campaign.
