It's been more than a week since the disappearance of Banda El Recodo member Aldo Sarabia Garcia, and another member opened up about the situation.

Poncho Lizarraga remains hopeful, notes Diario Basta.

"Everything will be fine," he said. "We are shocked, because you can disappear for a day or two, maybe you can go on a bender, but knowing Aldo, that seems very strange to us. That's why we are worried, very shocked, but we are also positive and we hope, God willing, that he arrives."

The last day the band saw Garcia was on Oct. 12. They had just performed in San Jose, California and were on their way back to Mazatland. Lizarraga explained that after everyone goes home, they each have their separate lives.

Lizarraga's cousin told him to contact Garcia because he wasn't responding to phone calls.

He added that authorities have been on alert about everything.

"We have support," he said. "Not 100 percent, but 1,000 percent from the authorities in Sinaloa, in Mazatlan."

Lizarraga said the band has received calls from everywhere, with people offering their support.

There has been speculation that perhaps Garcia has been kidnapped, but that's not what Lizarraga thinks happened.

"In my mind, it's not a tragic ending and I don't think it is a question of a kidnapping or anything like that," he said. "In the history of El Recodo, we have never been threatened or intimidated anywhere... On the contrary, we have already received a lot of love."

The band has also been dealing with another tragedy as one of its former members recently died after battling cancer. The band took some time to honor him on Facebook, where it described him as a pioneer, who shaped the sound of the band.
