Cara Delevingne Reportedly Records Debut Single, Films Music Video With Pharrell
Cara Delevingne has reportedly recorded her debut single with highly acclaimed producer Pharrell to get her foot in the door of the music industry.
After the British supermodel signed a deal with Skateboard P's "i am OTHER" business label, the duo apparently spent the past eight months working together on a collaborative project, with insiders claiming that they also filmed an accompanying music video for the new track in Paris.
"They're going to release the song without warning, complete with video and global launch," a source told the Sun (via Daily Mail). "They seem to have formed a great little writing collective and apparently it's a huge song."
Last week, Delevingne actually joined Pharrell on stage during his sold-out concert in Paris, as she was seen dancing around to his hit "Happy." She said about her mentor in the 2013 Vogue cover shoot: "I was so excited about working with him, he inspires me so much. I went on tour with Rihanna recently and 'Blurred Lines' was blasted from the bus to get everyone singing."
The hitmaker first hinted at his plan on Cara Delevingne's music career during the Elle Style Awards back in February. "I think what people should probably focus in on, versus these specific projects, is on her, her spirit. And what she's up to next. Trust me," he told Capital FM. "Because the films only get better, the parts only get bigger, the music only gets better, the modeling only gets better."
"But the spirit is becoming refined. She's becoming refined, so it's another chapter in her life," he continued. "And we're happy over at I am other to say that this is family now. There's going to be some really cool things."
"I'm kind of speechless, he's kind of blown my head out to the water," Delevingne added at the time. "I mean, what an incredible man? Honestly."
