Just a few days since it was revealed that Jon Gosselin had been evicted from his home and was struggling financially, his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin is planning to throw a yard sale to make money, In Touch Weekly reports.

According to In Touch, Gosselin first made her yard sale announcement on Y102 revealing that the yard sale would take place on Saturday Oct. 25 at St. John's United Church of Christ.

Y102 posted a flyer about the Gosselin family's yard sale adding that, "a portion of the profits from the items - which include "clothing, toys, books, appliances, car/booster seats, furniture and more" - will be donated to the Local Animal Rescue League."

Though Kate claims the yard sale is intended for charity and getting rid of "unwanted items," In Touch suggests that Gosselin's yard sale might be an attempt to support her family financially now that Jon has been evicted and no longer has a job.

E! News was among the media outlets reporting that the father of eight could no longer afford his rent.

"The saddest part of it is he now has nowhere to take the kids," said the E! News source. "He's not allowed at the house, so he was taking them to his old apartment. But the new one is too small for eight children. It's heartbreaking."

Prior to his eviction, Jon had been struggling to find a job.

He once told Entertainment Tonight last year that it was "next to nearly impossible to find work" following his departure from TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8" reality show.

Since leaving his family's reality-tv show, Jon has worked as a waiter at a local restaurant in Pennsylvania and E! News claims that Gosselin had a job with an undisclosed credit card company that eventually "didn't pan out."

Though neither Jon nor Kate has recently commented on the family's financial status, Kate has said in the past that she uses reality-TV to help support her children financially.

"[TV] is a pretty fantastic way to feed my children, keep them in an amazing house, at an amazing school and make memories together," she told In Touch Weekly back in June.

Kate's latest reality-TV show with her children is "Kate Plus 8" that will air on TLC in December.
