Swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen has become the latest celebrity to call it quits on a social media network.

She was so upset with backlash stemmping from her thoughts on gun control that she said she felt sick. "Bye Twitter. Taking my talents to Instagram."

Teigen isn't the first to quit Twitter. Over the years, celebrities have taken a break from the social media for numerous reasons.

Demi Lovato took a break from Twitter in October 2010 for personal issues but returned a few months later. "I love you guys SO MUCH ... this support is UNBELIEVABLE!! I'm tearing up I'm so thankful," she wrote.

Keira Knightley started a Twitter account under a fake name and shut it down 12 hours later. She told Harper's Bazaar, "It made me feel a little bit like being in a school playground and not being popular and standing on the sidelines kind of going, 'Argh.'"

Megan Fox left Twitter after less than a week of setting up her account. She didn't see the point in tweeting and instead, continued her life on Facebook. She wrote, "Some of you may, or may not have noticed by now that my Twitter account has been shut down."

"I thought that 2013 might be the year I finally blossomed into a social networking butterfly... but as it turns out I still hate it. Love you guys but I can never be that girl. Facebook is as much as I can handle."

Pop star Miley Cyrus quit tweeting back in October 2009 when she and ex-boyfriend Liam Hemsworth were still dating. Apparently he had asked her to quit because he didn't own a Twitter account. They wound up calling off their engagement four years later.

Singer, Adele left Twitter after she found disturbing messages written about her baby boy. A short time later she returned and continues to tweet once in a while.
