'Hasta El Fin Del Mundo' Cast: David Zepeda Talks About Being Nervous Over Chava Role
Pedro Fernandez is a much beloved musician who was starring as Chava on "Hasta El Fin Del Mundo," but after leaving the production, David Zepeda has jumped into the role.
For Zepeda, there was no doubt that he had to take on the role, but he does feel very nervous about it.
"Even though several days have passed since Mr. Nicandro Diaz told me, I continue to be so nervous," he said. "It even seems like it's my first telenovela! Ever since he invited me to take on the role, I never hesitated."
Zepeda explained that being a part of Televisa has always been about growing as an actor. Chava, for example, is a complex character, who has many elements that will push him, he said.
Regardless of everything, he is ready to give his all.
Zepeda has already started filming, and his episodes will be released in Mexico between Nov. 12 and 14.
The actor also only had good things to say about the cast and production team. He was especially thankful to Diaz, who he had previously worked with.
"I remember that he gave me my second opportunity with Televisa with the telenovela 'Soy Tu Dueña, where I play Alonso Peñalvert," he said. "I know his way of working, the responsibility that this job entails and the commitment to be 100 percent. Also, this story highlight values, especially for women, who for him are contemporary, active and hardworking."
Zepeda said the change has not been easy on anyone.
When he was asked to join the cast he was in Guadalajar. The two spoke about the role and he immediately signed on to do it. Zepeda said the only difficult thing was setting up schedules.
The actor didn't go into the show blindly. He had already watched Chava, and knew the character's past affected him. And though he's had conversations with the directors and producers about the character, he knows everything is different when he is actually in front of the camera.
Zepeda is not worried about the inevitable comparisons between him and Fernandez.
"That's not in my hands," he said. "I have enormous respect for Mr. Pedro Fernandez and his fans. Each person has certain characteristics to take on a character, and if Nicandro has trusted me, then what I should do is work hard and trust in his team."
