According to Time, Broadway actress and funnywoman Lea DeLaria, who currently plays the role of Big Boo on the cult Netflix original series "Orange Is the New Black," confronted a subway preacher in New York on her way to her Queens-area residence.

The bold move is not surprising, considering that DeLaria is known for causing controversy and was "the first openly gay comic to break the late-night talk-show barrier" with a watershed appearance on "The Arsenio Hall Show" in 1993, according to Entertainment Weekly.

In a video obtained by TMZ on Tuesday, Nov. 4, the trailblazing stand-up comedian -- who wore a slashed jeans and a black "Bad Jew" t-shirt -- shouted repeatedly to the street preacher, "You have no right!" as he tried in vain to inform passengers of his faith and word of Jesus Christ, warning them about several turpitudes that could harm them if they do not convert.

"As long as you keep talking, I'll keep talking," DeLaria said. "If you want to press your faith, go to another train. This is not why America's in trouble. Religious fanatics are the reason America's in trouble ... You are the reason America's in trouble."

The street preacher didn't appear to be fazed at all by DeLaria as he tried proselytizing riders, merely shooing her away with a mere, "Ok."

DeLaria, however, fiercely and vociferously gave the Bible-thumper some news he may not have expected.

"Don't come at me 'cause I went to f--king Catholic school for 12 years, and I know every line," she said.

After several interruptions, the street preacher bore his fangs and began to retaliate against DeLaria, referencing Sodom and Gomorrah and "the sin of homosexuality," which only fueled the tension with DeLaria, who threw up her hands and administered a rapid-fire delivery of witty rebuttals.

"This is not Sodom and Gomorrah," she said, speaking over him. "Even Sodom and Gomorrah is not Sodom and Gomorrah.

The actress directed the subway preacher to exit the subway.

"You have absolutely no right, sir," she screamed.

When he left eventually, DeLaria shook her head and yelled, "Thank God," as commuters cheered.

"And notice I thanked God," she quipped.

Subsequently after that experience, DeLaria commuted to visit a few "friends" on the fabled "Sesame Street."
