Last month, actress Amanda Seyfried tweeted that she almost missed out on several roles because she was considered "overweight" in Hollywood, Us Weekly reports.

E! News reports that Seyfried's fans immediately flooded her Twitter timeline to assure the "Les Miserables" actress that she's "perfect" in their eyes.

Although Seyfried didn't specify what roles she missed out on in her tweet, she did reveal to Glamour UK back in 2010 that she would not have been cast in "Mamma Mia" her role if she was overweight.

"If I didn't run and work out, there's no way I would be this thin," she told Glamour at the time. "But I have to stay in shape because I'm an actress. It's f--ked up and it's twisted, but I wouldn't get the roles otherwise. If I'd been a bit bigger, I don't think they would have cast me for 'Mamma Mia!'"

In another 2010 interview with Esquire, the 28-year-old actress revealed that she was on a raw-food diet that she described as "awful."

"It's intense. And sort of awful," she described her diet. "Yesterday for lunch? Spinach. Just spinach. Spinach and some seeds."

Despite succumbing to the pressures of Hollywood to stay thin, there is no pressure for Seyfried when she is competing with other Hollywood actresses for roles.

"The girls that I'm always up against for roles are pretty nice and cool," Seyfried told Glamour back in 2012.

She then went on to disclose the names of her "cool" competitors.

"Like Emma Watson. She's awesome. She's really funny and smart, Seyfried revealed. "And Carey Mulligan. It's flattering to be up against her because she's really good, and she's cool too...I think the era of the diva actress is coming to an end."

Another Hollywood actress that has spoken out about the pressure to look a certain way in Hollywood is Julia Roberts.

During a recent interview with You Magazine via The Telegraph, Roberts revealed that she took "a big risk in not having a facelift" in Hollywood.

Roberts has allowed herself to age naturally and explained that yoga has helped her maintain her shape and spiritual balance.
