Brazil vs Turkey: Soccer International Friendly Preview, Live Stream, Predictions
Brazil will look to extend their winning run under new head coach Dunga when they collide with Turkey in an international friendly match on Wednesday in Istanbul.
The Brazilians are still trying to forget the bitter memory of their 2014 FIFA World Cup debacle, and they have made great strides over the past two months after winning in all friendlies since the Brazil tournament.
Neymar will be the man to watch for Brazil again in their showdown with Turkey because the star striker has been on a tear recently, leading his team to victories against Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina and Japan.
The 22-year-old, who scored all four goals in their blowout win against Japan last month, said that he is excited to represent Brazil again, and he will look to end the year on a positive note in their remaining friendlies.
"I am elated to represent Brazil once again," Neymar told Globo via Soccerway. "I want to close this year with a flourish. We will work in the coming days to work out an ideal way to face the opponents.
The Neymar-led Brazil will be a heavy favorite against Turkey, but the Selecao talisman said that there should be no room for complacency, knowing that the Turkish side could pull off an upset.
Brazilian midfielder Willian echoed Neymar's statement, saying that they should not take Turkey lightly, while also adding that they should focus on containing Arda Turan.
"Turkey are not a team to be taken lightly," Willian said via ESPN FC. "This game is a good opportunity to test ourselves. We have watched Turkey's previous games and they are a side that can spring a surprise. They also have players of the highest quality such as Arda Turan. We have to be careful."
Turkey will use the friendly match to prepare for their upcoming European Championship qualifying match against Kazakhstan on Sunday. Turkish winger Volkan Sen pointed out that they will take the match seriously in order to make themselves ready against the crucial match against Kazakhstan.
