The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins will play each other in an AFC East rivalry game Thursday night on the Nov. 13 edition of NFL Thursday Night Football .

As Week 11 of the 2014 NFL season kicks off, both the Dolphins and Bills are 5-4 in the standings after nine games of play. This will be the second time these rivals play each other this season, as the Bills defeated the Dolphins in Week 2, 29-10.

Let's see who has the edge in this game:

Miami Dolphins (5-4)

The Dolphins are 5-4 coming off a loss to the Detroit Lions last week. Last week's loss snapped a three-game winning streak, and the Dolphins are looking to get back in the right direction. Unfortunately, they have been battling some major injuries. Running back Knowshon Moreno is out for the season with a torn ACL, and offensive lineman Branden Albert will not be playing in this game.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has thrown 15 touchdowns this season and seven interceptions while completing 64.3 percent of his passes. Tannehill has been inconsistent at times, but he's showing signs of improvement. Mike Wallace has been his favorite target with a team-leading 519 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Wallace is one of the best deep threats in the NFL today.

But the Dolphins aren't winning because of offense. It's their No. 4 ranked defense that has guided them to five victories this season. Jelani Jenkins, Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon have been fantastic for the Dolphins on the defensive side of the football. The Dolphins' pass defense ranks second in the league.

The biggest test for the Dolphins will be if they can protect Tannehill in front of that Bills defensive line.

The Dolphins face the Denver Broncos next week.

Buffalo Bills (5-4)

Just like the Dolphins, the Bills are also 5-4 coming off a loss last week. The Bills lost a heartbreaker to the Kansas City Chiefs after leading by two touchdowns. Now, the Bills are tied with the Dolphins for second place in the AFC East behind the New England Patriots, and have the chance to sweep the Dolphins on the road.

The Bills' defense leads the NFL this season with 34 sacks. Marcell Dareus leads the Bills with 10 sacks so far, while Jerry Hughes and Mario Williams have seven each. With the Dolphins offensive line hurting, you can bet the Bills will be blitzing Tannehill all game long. As a team, the Bills rank No. 6 overall in defense, have the seventh-best pass defense, and the eighth-best rush defense.

After losing consecutive games to the Houston Texans and San Diego Chargers, quarterback EJ Manuel was benched in favor of Kyle Orton, who is now 3-2 as the starter with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions. Manuel had just five touchdowns and three interceptions before being replaced.

The Bills may have a tough time rushing the football against Miami. Their rushing attack ranks 20th overall and CJ Spiller is out for the season. The Bills have rushed for less than 100 yards in five of their last seven games. That's not a good sign, especially on the road.

The Bills face the New York Jets next week.

Schedule, Where to Watch

The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins will play each other at 8:25 p.m. EST on Thursday, Nov. 13 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida. The game will be shown on the NFL Network and you can view a live game stream here.

Predictions

Both of these teams are extremely even in almost every aspect. Both have injured running backs, an average quarterback and a great defensive squad. At 5-4, both teams desperately need this win. The Dolphins should be able to get even with a victory at home with Tannehill outplaying Orton.

Dolphins win 20-17
