AC Milan and Barcelona will try to make it two in a row, but Celtic and Ajax are expected to bounce back strong following their setbacks in the opening day of the UEFA Champions League.

AC Milan (1-0) vs. Ajax (0-1) at Amsterdam Arena

After their splendid win over Celtic 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League opener, AC Milan is now facing a spell of inconsistency as injuries to their key players remain the top concern.

Milan lost to Napoli 1-2 in their Serie A showdown and played to a 3-3 draw with Bologna. A 1-0 victory over Sampdoria finally gave Milan a much-needed win but their future fixtures will surely test their mettle in the coming days.

On the other hand, Ajax has been on a roll after suffering back-to-back 4-0 setbacks at the hands of Barcelona and league rival PSV Eindhoven. Ajax downed FC Volendam 4-2 and followed it up with a 6-0 smashing against Goi Ahead Eagles.

Milan ace striker Mario Balotelli is expected to return from a two-Serie A game absence and he will play alongside another top-notch goal scorer Alessandro Matri.

Meanwhile, Ajax is planning to end their 11-year losing streak against a Serie A team in European competition on Tuesday. However, Ajax head coach Frank de Boer might need some of his guys to step up after ace forward Bojan Krjic was ruled out of the match due to a strained hamstring.

Celtic vs. Barcelona at Celtic Park

Fresh from a 5-2 win over Kilmarnock, Celtic is in for a daunting test against European football powerhouse Barcelona. Celtic (6-1-0, 19pths) is currently sitting in second place in the Scottish Premier League, but the challenge presented by the Catalonian ball club is simply overwhelming.

Barcelona, who became the first La Liga squad to win their first seven games of the season, will attempt to keep their unblemished record and give them a better chance to seal the top-spot of Group H as early as they can.

Barcelona will be missing ace striker Lionel Messi with a thigh injury, but that should not be a problem given the firepower they possess. Brazil's Naymar, Cesc Fabrigas, and Iniesta will likely step up to fill the void left by their star player.
