'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6, Episode 8 Spoilers: Caroline Hosts 'Friendsgiving' Dinner in 'Fade Into You' [Watch]
Stefan and Caroline will still be at odds, while Elena will confess to Liam that she is a vampire in the next-all new episode of "The Vampire Diaries."
During last week's episode, "Do You Remember the First Time?," Enzo exposed Caroline's crush on Stefan and Bonnie sacrificed her magic in order to keep Kai from getting loose, reports CelebDirtyLaundry.com. Elena also tried to remember her romantic memories with Damon, but when she failed to do so, Damon decided to let her go.
Delena fans were also treated to a never-before-seen clip of Damon and Elena kissing in the rain in the form of a flashback from the show's infamous lost summer.
Executive producer Julie Plec offered some insight about the steamy rain kiss.
"When Stefan got kidnapped in Season 1, Damon and Elena -- who heretofore hadn't worked together much -- had to go and rescue Stefan ... from Frederick; it was raining and they're standing there talking to each other about rescuing Stefan," Plec recalled, according to TVLine. "That's one of those canon moments where the people who started really connecting with Damon and Elena as a potential couple really always called out that moment as like, 'Oh, God! One day, they'll be in the rain and they'll kiss.'"
According to Plec, the show was always thinking about the summer missed between Seasons 4 and 5 and what happened.
"So we were like, 'OK, is it a meteor shower? Are they out by a waterfall? We were just pitching all these ideas, and all of a sudden, someone -- I don't even know who it was, maybe it was me, maybe it was somebody else -- said, 'What if they kissed in the rain?' And we all went, 'Oh, God,'" Plec continued.
Plec went on explaining the memory that they shared.
"It was going to be something beautiful and epic, so the rain was a way of us [honoring] this group of fans who spent five years begging for this one thing," she explained. "Basically, there's something about people coming together in the rain that's the ultimate expression of love in the minds of most audiences."
A promo for the upcoming Thanksgiving-themed episode, which is titled "Fade Into You," shows that Caroline will host a dinner party to celebrate the holiday, however Stefan won't get an invite to her "Friendsgiving" dinner.
"Hey, ah, were you invited to Friendsgiving?" Stefan asks his brother nonchalantly in the teaser video. "What, were you not invited?" Damon snaps back.
In another clip, Elena appears to tell Liam that she's a vampire.
"I'm a vampire," Elena blurts out.
"You're a what?" Liam asks in shock.
A sneak peek video published on TV Guide also shows Damon and Alaric encouraging Stefan to hook up with Caroline.
"Why don't you just date her and put us all out of our misery?" Damon tells his brother in the clip. "There are no drawbacks to this woman, Stefan."
According to Dread Central, the synopsis for "Fade Into You" is as follows:
"As Caroline (Candice Accola) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) prepare to host Friendsgiving at the dorm, they receive some hopeful news from Alaric (Matt Davis) and Stefan (Paul Wesley), who have traveled to Portland to gather some information regarding the Gemini Coven.
"Tyler (Michael Trevino) is determined to help Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) after she and Luke (guest star Chris Brochu) reveal some disturbing information about their witch lineage and the impending plans their coven has for them. Meanwhile, dinner takes a drastic turn when Jo (guest star Jodi Lyn O'Keefe), who has revealed some painful details about her past, finds herself fighting for her life, leaving Alaric scrambling to help from a distance.
"Finally, Kai (guest star Chris Wood) makes a dangerous discovery that brings him one step closer to his release."
Season 6, Episode 5 of "The Vampire Diaries," "Fade Into You?" will air on The CW on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. EST.
