A new film starring Blake Lively as a woman who is unable to age, "Age of Adaline," has released its first official trailer. The movie, due in theaters in 2015, also features Harrison Ford, Ellen Burstyn and Michiel Huisman.

Lee Toland Kreiger of independent films like "Celeste and Jesse Forever" and "The Vicious Kind" will direct the mysterious drama. Newcomer Salvador Paskowitz and J. Mills Goodloe of "The Best of Me" teamed up to write the script for the movie.

According to TheWrap, the plot centers on Lively as Adaline Bowman and her survival of a devastating car accident. She not only is able to recover from her injuries, but the 29-year-old also stops aging -- forever. While eternal youth at first seems like an enviable blessing to encounter, Adaline discovers that it completely destroys her formerly normal life.

Soon, Adaline begins to outlive family and friends and years later is forced to live a life stuck in young appearance but aged in experience, constantly on the move so people don't become suspicious of her unchanging looks. Eventually, it becomes more of a curse than a blessing as she lives throughout the 20th century with little to no close connections.

"Adaline becomes a beautiful recluse -- afraid of getting hurt by more love and loss," FirstShowing.net writer Ethan Anderton wrote.

In the trailer, Lively is seen encountering a mysterious scruffy man who could put an end to her immortality.

Burstyn play's Adaline's daughter, and Harrison Ford is her onetime lost love that re-enters her life unexpectedly. Meanwhile, Huisman plays a modern-day love interest.

Krieger's film, which has touches of similar themes as the "Curious Case of Benjamin Button," according to The Hollywood Reporter, is being produced through Lionsgate Entertainment.

"Age of Adaline" will be released on April 24, 2015. Watch the full trailer below.
