NFL Team Football Schedule & Predictions 2014: 5 Teams Who Must Win Week 13 Games
Week 13 of the 2014 NFL season is here, and it's time for multiple teams to grab a victory. Division and conference races are becoming tighter than ever across the league in both the AFC and NFC.
Here are five teams that must win their Week 13 game:
1. Kansas City Chiefs
No more excuses for the Chiefs.
If this team is finally going to dethrone Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, they must defeat the Broncos on Sunday Night Football. Since Manning became a Bronco and joined the AFC West, he is a perfect 5-0 against the Chiefs. In Week 2, the Broncos defeated the Chiefs 24-17 in Denver. This game will be played at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, where the Chiefs are 4-1 this year. If the Chiefs can finally defeat the Broncos, they would both be tied at 8-4. Alex Smith isn't Manning, but Jamaal Charles and Knile Davis need to be terrific to create a balanced attack.
2. Cincinnati Bengals
The AFC North is by far the best division in the NFL this season, as every single team in the division already has seven victories. The Bengals face the 2-9 Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their next game, and they know that's a must-win game. Even though the game is in Tampa, Florida, the Bengals are the far superior team. Quarterback Andy Dalton appears to finally be finding his groove, and the Bengals rushing attack ranks seventh in the league. The Bengals have now won four of their last five games.
3. Detroit Lions
After a promising 7-2 start to the season, the Lions have now lost their last two consecutive games to drop to 7-4. Panic time? Probably not, but we all know the history of the Lions, and the Green Bay Packers now lead the division at 8-3. Calvin "Megatron" Johnson isn't playing up to his standards, and the Lions offense ranks 28th overall in scoring. Matthew Stafford has just 13 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. The Lions will host the 5-6 Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving.
4. Indianapolis Colts
The top two draft picks from the 2012 NFL draft will be facing off in this game, Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III. It appears as if one is heading in the right direction, while the other just keeps regressing. The Colts should be able to defeat the 3-8 Washington Redskins at home. Luck has 29 touchdowns and 10 interceptions this season, while Griffin has just two touchdowns and three interceptions. The Redskins have lost their last three consecutive games whereas the Colts have won seven of their last nine games. The Colts need to win this game so they can increase their seeding in the AFC.
5. Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals are still in first place in the NFC West with a 9-2 record, but the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers are coming. The 49ers and Seahawks both play each other on Thanksgiving, meaning one of those teams will have eight wins after this week. The Cardinals play the 4-7 Atlanta Falcons, and they need that win, especially coming off a loss to the Seahawks. With veteran quarterback Carson Palmer out for the season, Drew Stanton has to play the role of "game manager" for this offense. A second consecutive loss here would be devastating for a team that started off 9-1.
