During a recent interview with Dazedself-proclaimed method actor, Shia LaBeouf made a shocking revelation: He was raped during a performance art project back in February.

Dazed reports that LaBeouf 's "#IAMSORRY" art project, which took place during a span of five days in Los Angeles, was a one-man art project "in which LaBeouf silently met members of the public one by one for five days in an LA gallery."

When asked to share his recollection of meeting with various strangers during his "#IAMSORRY" art project, LaBeouf recalled many touching moments with his audience members, adding that he "never experienced love like that; empathy, humanity."

But LaBeouf's "#IAMSORRY" experience quickly proved to be a troubling exercise for the "Fury" actor as he also recalled moments where audience members would "come in, take my bag off, pop off a selfie and bounce."

"That felt terrible," he said of the selfie enthusiasts.

In addition to the unwarranted selfies, one particular moment that LaBeouf describes as "unsettling" occurred when a women allegedly raped LaBeouf during his "#IAMSORRY" performance art show.

"One woman who came with her boyfriend, who was outside the door when this happened, whipped my legs for ten minutes and then stripped my clothing and proceeded to rape me," LaBeouf said, adding that his girlfriend attended the show that and was "hurt" after discovering what had happened.

Dazed reports that LaBeouf recalled the horrific experience during his performance art piece through a series of emails with Dazed's Aimee Cliff, who communicated with the actor through email for a duration of two weeks.

LaBeouf's email correspondence with Cliff was later translated into a Q&A that was posted on the Dazed website along with LaBeouf's hour-long silent video interview with Cliff.
