With no new wide releases coming out Dec. 5, the studios have packed a full slate of films on DVD.

The studios will offer alternatives to "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay: Part 1," "Interstellar" and even "The Theory of Everything."

Latin Post takes a look at the hottest DVDs coming to shelves on Tuesday:

"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes"

After having a breakout in the summer and being one of the few franchises to succeed, Fox will release the highly acclaimed "Planet of the Apes." The latest installment, starring Jason Clarke and Andy Serkis, follows the story of "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" 10 years after a pandemic disease. The apes who have survived it are drawn into battle with a group of human survivors. When the movie opened, critics hailed it and Latin Post said it was "A Stunning and Masterful Sequel." It also went on to become the first "Apes" movie to hit the $200 million mark and is currently being considered a huge awards contender. For those not interested in "The Hunger Games" or "Interstellar," this will definitely be an alternative.

"Cantinflas"

For those interested in a foreign film, the Mario Moreno biopic is likely to appeal. The film tells the story of the rise of Mexico's most iconic actor and it is Mexico's official selection for the Academy Awards. While it scored negative reviews when it opened in August, the biopic was a box office hit for a foreign film. It is unlikely to score an Oscar nomination, but it will surely appeal to those keeping track of the foreign film competition.

"As Above/So Below"

For those not interested in this weekend's "The Pyramid," Universal will offer the horror found footage feature. The movie tells the story of a team of explorers who venture into the catacombs that lie beneath the streets of Paris and uncover the dark secret that lies within the city of the dead. Having been released in August, the movie underperformed and failed to generate interest. However, the marketplace currently lacks horror films and this could be helpful to generate audience for Universal's film. "As Above/So Below" stars Perdita Weeks, Francois Civil and Edwin Hodge.

The Hundred-Foot Journey

The Helen Mirren drama tells the story of the Kadam family who leaves India for France where they open a restaurant directly across the road from Madame Mallory's Michelin-starred eatery. Disney released the drama in the summer hoping to get the same attention as "The Help," back in 2011. However, the movie failed to generate the same interest and reviews were also mixed. Originally intended to be an Oscar contender, it quickly faded from pundits' memories. However, Disney is releasing the film in time to get Golden Globe consideration. For those not interested in the heavy dramas currently in the marketplace, this dramedy will certainly appeal to adult audiences.

This week's Indie releases include Drafthouse's "The Congress," which stars Robin Wright and is directed by Ari Folman, and Music Box's "Fifi Howls from Happiness." First Run will also release "Design Is One" while Magnolia will unveil "The Hero of Color City."

Paladin will release "Kids for Cash" while Sony Pictures Classics will unveil the acclaimed Hungarian picture "The Notebook." The movie was among the nine finalists for the Foreign Film category at the Oscars but it was not nominated. As a result, Sony did not give it enough press and gave it a small release. Regardless, the drama was a festival hit and one that will appeal to foreign film enthusiasts.

Shoot First Inc. will release "Pay 2 Play: Democracy's High Stakes" while Rocky Mountain Pictures will bring out "There's No Place Like Utopia."
