The Green Bay Packers look to forge ahead in their playoff push, but to get to 10 wins, they must first go through a scrappy Atlanta Falcons squad on NFL Monday Night Football in Week 14.  

Monday Night Football gives football fans an NFC matchup between two NFC teams. The Packers have their eyes set on another Lombardi Trophy, while the Falcons are in position to win the NFC South.

Let's break down the teams and see who has the edge in this game:

Green Bay Packers (9-3)

The Green Bay Packers have been one of the hottest teams in the NFL lately, winning eight of their last nine games. Last week, the Packers defeated the New England Patriots, 26-21. The Packers have been unbeatable at home this season with an unblemished record of 6-0 at Lambeau Field.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been the leading MVP candidate this season with an outstanding 32 touchdowns and just three interceptions. Rodgers has an NFL leading passer rating of 118.6. The Packers have the No. 2 ranked scoring offense, and they have committed the fewest turnovers this season. Running back Eddie Lacy has been battling injuries, but his 770 rushing yards and nine touchdowns have helped the Packers create a balanced attack.

Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson have been the best receivers this season for the Packers with a combined 20 touchdowns and 2,041 receiving yards.

Defensively, the Packers haven't been great, but they've shown signs of improvements. Although the Packers have allowed the seventh most yards in the league, their red zone defense has held opposing defenses to field goals multiple times. Former Chicago Bears defensive end Julius Peppers is having a great season with a team-leading five sacks.

This game will mark Rodgers' 100th career regular season start.

Atlanta Falcons (5-7)

At 5-7, the Atlanta Falcons lead the NFC South.

No, that's not a typo. The NFC South division has been extremely disappointing this season with the New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Regardless of the Falcons record, they are currently the No. 4 seed in the NFC standings.

The Falcons have won three of their last four games, including a great victory last week against the Arizona Cardinals. The Falcons control their own destiny going forward because they defeated the Saints in Week 1, 37-34 in an overtime thriller.

Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense have been effective this season ranking ninth overall in yards gained and sixth in passing. Ryan has 21 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and a 93.7 passer rating so far. Running the ball has been the only issue for Falcons offense, as they rank 25th in rushing yards.

Unfortunately, the Falcons have the worst defense in the NFL this season. This defensive unit has been atrocious all season long, also ranking dead last in passing yards allowed. A game against Rodgers and the Packers probably isn't what the doctor ordered. The Falcons' only chance to contain Rodgers is to blitz and hope they can get to him.

The X factor for the Falcons is Devin Hester, the greatest punt returner in NFL history.

One of the best passing teams in the league facing the worst passing defense. A 2-4 road team facing a 6-0 home team at Lambeau Field. This game might get ugly. Ryan is a good quarterback, but without a stable running game he doesn't stand a chance. The Packers should win this game easily.
