Univision 'Va Por Ti' Recap and Spoilers: Finale Announces Yazaria Lopez as Winner, But Some Don't Think She Deserves It
The fact that Yazaira Lopez won "Va Por Ti" was no surprise as her husband confirmed it before the finale. Still, the last episode of the show had some exciting moments.
One round paired the contestants with big stars.
Fernando was the first person up, and he sang with Bobby Pulido.
Poyato sang alongside "La Malquerida"star Mane de la Parra.
Danny sang with Mexican group Playa Limbo. He showed his enthusiasm and gave lead singer Maria Leon a kiss on her hand.
Virginia Stille was joined by former Timbiriche star Edith Marquez.
Lopez sang with Maria Jose, and even the former Kabah star was impressed.
The public chose who won, and host Galilea Montijo announced that Poyato was in fifth place.
The remaining four then paid homage to Los Tigres del Norte. Following that, Stille was eliminated.
The final three sang with team captain Jencarlos Canela, and Danny was named the third place contestant. Fernando was then named second, and Lopez was declared the winner.
Lopez was overcome with emotions when she was asked about her win in behind-the-scenes footage, Univision reports.
"I still don't believe it, honestly," she said. "I thank Dulce because you made me want to keep being a fighter and for giving me your vote of confidence from the very beginning. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have won. You taught me so many things."
Lopez went on to praise Dulce Maria, who she said helped her through so many difficult moments. She added that the two are now friends after their shared experiences.
Dulce was right by her side, and was also very emotional.
"What can I say, I've always believed in her," Dulce said. "I tried to take care of her as much as possible. As I told her before she sang, I am very proud of her and happy that finally someone from my initial team won."
The Puerto Rican continues to trend on Twitter in Puerto Rico. However, her win has been met with both positive and negative comments on social media.
For example, one Twitter user was skeptical about Lopez's win.
"Yaza yells," he said. "I won't say she can't sing, but the public chose Fernando. Not her."
Another Twitter user thought Stille was the most talented contestant.
"The public made Yaza win, but Virgina is the best," she said. "I hope to see her as an artist."
There are also people who are ecstatic that Lopez won.
"@Yaza_lopez it wasn't a surprise to me," a Twitter user said. "I always knew you were the best. Your voice is a blessing. Congratulations!!"
