'Los Miserables' Weekly Recap: Amparo & Gaston Are Murdered; Liliana Tries to Frame El Diablo
"Los Miserables," which stars Aracely Arambula and Erik Hayser as lovers, took some interesting twists last week.
Here's what happened on the show on the from Dec. 1 to Dec. 5.
A crying Lucha is comforted by Amparo, who tells her she needs to fight for her freedom.
"Although there's a long road to happiness, you shouldn't be afraid," she tells Lucia. "God will be with you in every step of the way. Fight for your liberty with tooth and nail, but have compassion, especially with Daniel."
Amparo is found dead, and Daniel begins to cry after he sees her.
"No, Lucha," he said. "Not you."
Later on, Daniel is seen very upset while talking on the phone with Pablo. He is looking for El Diablo Marrero, who he is sure is not at his home.
Meanwhile, Liliana wants Genaro to hit her. When he asks her if she has gone crazy, she explains that she is more sane than ever. She adds that he will later realize why she is asking for this.
She finally gets him to do it when she says that hitting her is to his advantage.
Anselmo doesn't realize he is being followed by Pablo, but Genaro clues him in. Pablo's original plan was to follow Anselmo to get to El Diablo.
Liliana walks into her home crying. Her mother asks what happened.
"That man, Mom, El Diablo," she said. "He almost killed me Mom. He almost killed me."
She goes to the hospital, where the doctor tells her she has to stay overnight. She seemed shocked by this and asked why. The doctor said it's routine.
Helena tells Consuelo that Liliana has seemed very strange to her lately. Helena has suspicions, and though she doesn't want to share them with her sister, she does say that if she is correct, then Liliana is not their sister but their enemy.
Lucha, on the other hand, confronts Liliana, telling her that she will never believe her. Liliana said that the only thing Lucha needs to believe is that El Diablo killed Amparo.
Liliana then talks to Daniel. When he asks her if she is willing to testify against El Diablo, Liliana answers that she is.
For Pablo, things aren't going as well. When he tells Helena the truth, she becomes upset that he made her fall in love with him so that he could get information out of her. She tells him she never wants to see him again.
Lucha is overhearing a conversation, which then makes her confident that she has just seen the man who murdered Cesar.
Gaston has been living in terror. El Diablo is hiding in his house, and he can't do anything about it. Eventually, he tells his daughter, who ends up telling Lucha.
El Diablo ends up sneaking into Liliana's room, and someone ends up seeing him, though she cannot see his face. Lucha draws the conclusion that it had to be him.
Gaston is kidnapped, and is tortured by Liliana.
"Now, tell me everything you said, Gaston," she said. "Talk or I'll cut your tongue."
She ends up stabbing him and killing him. Liliana is later seen talking to Gaston's daughter, feigning sadness.
"Poor Gaston, no?" she said. "We didn't get along well, but he didn't deserve to die like a dog."
Liliana turns around and blames Lucha for his death. Just when Lucha starts asking how she can be so sure that he is dead, Daniel calls her to tell her the news.
Liliana then starts crying along with the other women.
