Street Fighter V: New Character, 8-Minute Gameplay Shown at Capcom Cup [Watch]
Street Fighter is born again with its newly released Street Fighter V gameplay and the introduction of a new character.
Capcom, who developed the game, revealed new gameplay at the Capcom Cup event on Saturday, according to Escapist Magazine. The game will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4 and PC, and the introduction of a new character named Charlie adds a refresh to the classic lineup of street fighting characters. Capcom also revealed something extra special for gamers.
At the Capcom Cup, the company showcased an eight-minute gameplay that whet the palate of avid Street Fighter fans. The Street Fighter V match was between Ryu and Chun-Li, Escapist Magazine reported.
Capcom also gave more information on Charlie. He is a blond man, who wears glasses and also bears a glowing oval above his head. Charlie was only a tease. Watch an extended version of Ryu and Chun-Li fighting, where Charlie appears, below.
While Charlie might be new to some Street Fighter fans, his character actually appeared in Street Fighter Alpha.
Both Ryu and Chun-Li can power up and enhance their attacks with water and lightning respectively. Ryu finishes off the scene by creating a super improved version of his signature fireball attack; he shouts "Denjin hadouken!" IGN reported.
Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono introduced the fighting game, and he also announced that the prize winning pool for next year's Capcom tournaments will be increased to half a million dollars, Gamespot.com reported. Ono also promised to continue supporting and therefore enhancing Ultra Street Fighter IV next year.
