Chespirito Death: Comedian's Twitter Account to Close Because of His Request
Chespirito's Twitter account will no longer be updated.
On Friday, the social media account had a new message that informed followers that it would not continue to be updated.
"To his followers: As Chespirito asked, this account will be closed," the tweet started out. "We're infinitely thankful for all the love you have given us these years."
Chespirito died on Nov. 28, and since then his account has been updated a few times to thank fans and give them more information.
The comedian's wife, Florinda Meza, let Chespirito's followers know she will be selling his properties through the social media site. In one tweet, she explained that she felt that it was too much work for her to deal with all the properties, even though she loves them as much as her husband did.
"Thank for you all the love, and for remembering my love Roberto as the great man that he was," she said through Chespirito's Twitter. "I love you: Florinda Meza De Gomez Bolaños."
Earlier in December, Chespirito's former co-star spoke out against the comedian's wife.
La Chilindrina actress Maria Antonieta de las Nieves said Meza had interfered in Chespirito's first marriage. She later apologized on "Suelta La Sopa," according to 24 Horas.
"I felt bad about myself, I said, 'I have to be brave,'" she said. "I am going to apologize as Maria Antonieta de la Nieves and please take me seriously because I won't do it against. I am sorry for having confirmed something the whole world knew. It's not a secret, but why did I have to confirm it? I shouldn't have said it."
On top of alleging that Meza broke up Chespirito's first marriage, La Chilindrina also said Meza had dated two other people who worked on the show.
La Chilindrina added on the TV show that though she and Meza had not been at odds, there's no reason for the two of them to get close to each other.
"No, for what?" she said. "If we weren't close when her husband was alive, which was the only thing that united us, there's even less reason we'd do it now."
