Jamie Foxx has set the rumor straight. The actor says he is not dating Katie Holmes, the ex-wife of his good friend Tom Cruise.

"[The rumors] are one hundred percent not true," Foxx said yesterday in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "In fact, it's quite hilarious because we simply danced at a charity event along with a lot of other people."

The statement came just hours after InTouch Weekly reported the contrary.

"Katie and Jamie have been dating for a while," an InTouch Weekly source said. "They're very Mission: Impossible about their romance."

The source also claimed that Foxx had been spending secret nights in Holmes' apartment. A second source told the tabloid that in mid-September a limo driver arrived at the Trump Soho Hotel to take Foxx to the set of his upcoming film Annie, but Holmes entered the limo instead.

"A hotel employee confirmed that Katie had stayed at the hotel with Jamie and that she was taking his car," the second source said. "So the driver drove her home to her Chelsea apartment."

The charity event that got the rumor mill running was The Hampton: A Night of Legends, which took place Aug. 28. According to rumors, Holmes pulled actor-singer Foxx and television host Ellen DeGeneres onto the dance floor.

The stars were seen dancing together all night to songs like Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," Robin Thicke's single, "Blurred Lines" and "American Woman," performed by Lenny Kravitz.

Holmes and Foxx allegedly looked particularly happy while dancing to "Blurred Lines."

A New York Post source claimed they overheard Holmes tell two of her girlfriends that "I haven't had such a good time in so long."

After the event, The New York Post also reported that Holmes, 34, and Foxx, 45, have become increasingly close over the past few weeks but also acknowledged that the stars have been friends for a long time.
