Fans of "Two and a Half Men" will say goodbye to the long-running comedy series in just a few more weeks.

Last month, CBS issued a press release announcing that the popular sitcom will come to an end on Thursday, Feb. 19 with a special one-hour series finale.

The show's time slot will then be replaced with the new comedy "The Odd Couple" at 8:30 p.m., starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon.

The original star of "Two and a Half Men," Charlie Sheen, has voiced his desire to reappear on the show before the series comes to an end. Sheen's character, Charlie Harper, was killed off the popular sitcom back in 2011 after Sheen was fired for publicly bashing the show's executive producer Chuck Lorre. Sheen also filed a lawsuit against Lorre, the network and Warner Brother, the studio behind the show.

However, Sheen recently told The National Enquirer that he wants to guest star in the finale for "the fans."

"I made it clear that I'm available if they want to put me in the last episode, but their 'official' line is that we aren't in any 'official' talks. My lawyer spoke to them last week," he said.

Sheen also said "there's been an outpouring of support" from fans for his appearance and went on to describe his idea for a storyline.

"My dream is to be in the last scene of the last show," Sheen said. "I have a couple of other ideas that I don't want to spoil now, but it would clear up a couple of things. To me, it's all about tipping my hat to the fans (and) thanking them for all of their support."

Season 12, Episode 9 of "Two and a Half Men," "Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy, Lyndsey," will air on Thursday, Jan. 8 on CBS.
