Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden married Monday evening in what was an intimate ceremony at their Los Angeles home, People reported.

The couple told the magazine, "We couldn't be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends."

The actress and rocker have been dating since last year, ABC News reported.

Cameron's husband is an identical twin and is seven years her junior. He and his twin brother Joel formed the rock band Good Charlotte in the 1990s. The band has won multiple MTV awards and released five studio albums.

Good Charlotte's 2000 debut album went gold and their second album, "The Young and the Hopeless," went platinum with over three million copies sold.

Benji's brother married the reality icon Nicole Richie while the rock star has been linked to A-list stars even before Diaz.

Cameron is happy with her rock star husband. "Getting married is the next step when you are totally in love and comfortable with someone," a source told People. "Cameron has found true happiness."

The "Annie" actress and Good Charlotte former rock star hosted an intimate rehearsal dinner at their Beverly Hills space for a few family members and friends.

Drew Barrymore, who served as bridesmaid, Joel Madden and Nicole Richie were among the few people who attended. The couple's nephew was the ring bearer.

"It was a big wedding, but they still managed to make it feel very personal. Only their families and very special friends attended," a source said.

"It all felt very down-to-earth and sweet. Guests arrived smiling and almost seemed giddy. Everyone was excited to be a part of the wedding."

The famous wedding planners Yifat Oren and Stefanie Cove put together the ceremony. There was also a bachelorette party for the 42-year-old Sunday night at a hotel in L.A.

Cameron Diaz is off to a new life as a married woman when so many people thought she would never make the trip down the aisle.
