NFL Live Stream 2013: Kansas City Chiefs vs. Houston Texans - Live Score, Statistics, Play-by-Play & Boxscore Information
The up-and-coming Kansas City Chiefs (6-0) will attempt to book their seventh straight win against the imploding Houston Texans (2-4) on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
After six weeks of scintillating football, the Chiefs have emerged as a real threat to any team with Super Bowl aspirations. Led by Andy Reid, the Chiefs continue to rack up wins behind a solid pass rushing offense and resurgence of Alex Smith as an elite quarterback.
On the contrary, everything is going downhill for the Texans after four consecutive losses. Houston entered the 2013-14 NFL season with the hope to repeat and even surpass the postseason achievement they had last year, but things went really terrible this time around.
The Texans are coming off an embarrassing 38-13 loss to the St. Louis Rams on Week 6. Before that, Houston absorbed bad beatings at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers, prompting fans to direct their frustrations to starting quarterback Matt Schaub.
Numbers to Ponder
The Chiefs and the Broncos share the best record in the AFC West at 6-0. From a cellar dwelling team last season to a Super Bowl contender now, the Chiefs gained this big jump because of their superb defense against the pass by containing their foes at 190.3 average passing yards per game (2nd in the league) and terrific second team unit.
Meanwhile, the Texans might be boasting the league top defense against the pass by limiting opponents at 131.3 average passing yards per game, but they are terrible in converting red-line opportunities into touchdown.
Quotes from the Huddle
"It's something we talked about from Day 1, the scoring. There's equal opportunity in all three phases. We wanted everybody to have their chance to score a touchdown," Chiefs head coach Andy Reid on scoring touchdown on all three phases of the game, according to ESPN.
"Turnovers get you beat in this league and they're getting us beat on a consistent basis," said coach Gary Kubiak, who could find himself booted out from his job after leading the Texans to divisional titles in the last two seasons.
