The 2015 Golden Globes saw a lot of big wins for minorities as well as many speeches on social issues.

“Transparent” achieved one of the biggest wins of the night, scoring two trophies.

In their speeches, the "Transparent's" cast thanked the transgender community as pivotal in the making of the series.

“Transparent’s” first win came when the Amazon TV series won the award for Best Television Series (Comedy or Musical), according to the Mirror.

Speaking for the cast and crew, producer and writer Jill Soloway gave a heartfelt speech and dedicated the award to Leelah Acorn, a transgender teen who took her life.

"This award is dedicated to Leelah Alcorn and transgender people who died too young,” Soloway said while holding the award in the air. "Maybe we'll teach the world something about authenticity, and truth, and love. To love.”

She also dedicated the win to one of her parents, who inspired her to create the show and write its story, reports Time magazine.

“And it’s dedicated to you, my trans parent, my moppa. You’re watching at home right now. I just want to thank you for coming out because in doing so you made a break for freedom, you told your truth, you taught me how to tell my truth and make this show,” Soloway said.

“Moppa” is a combination of the words “mama” and poppa.” Her parent began transitioning while she was an adult, and she decided to tell a similar story, using her life experiences.

He also gave an emotional speech thanking the transgender community.

“And, finally, if I may, I would like to dedicate my performance and this award to the transgender community. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you ... for your courage. Thank you for you inspiration. Thank you for your patience, and thank you for letting us be a part of the change.
