Fans of NBC's "Parenthood" can expect the Braverman clan to face more drama and emotionally gripping challenges in the final few episodes of the series.

After taking a seven-week hiatus, "Parenthood" finally returned with its 100th episode last week. The episode, "How Did We Get Here?," picked up right where the fall midseason finale left off, with Zeek being rushed to the hospital. The Braverman family then gathered at the hospital as soon as they got wind that Zeek suffered from a heart attack.

During one scene, Millie broke down in the hospital chapel and admitted to Adam she did not think her husband was going to pull through, notes Entertainment Weekly.

After a long and eventful day at the hospital, the family learned that Zeek's health is critical and he has two options: either have a risky heart surgery or decline the operation and risk blood clots or an aneurysm. He decided that he will make the decision with Millie without input from their children.

On a brighter note, Julia and Joel continued to make progress in reconciling their marriage, while Hank confessed that he's ready to take things to the next level in his relationship with Julia. As a result, he offered her an ill-timed and awkward marriage proposal. In response, Julia told him that they can talk about getting married at a more convenient time.

A preview of the next all-new episode, "Let's Go Home," shows Zeek will be apprehensive about going under the knife. In addition, Adam will tell Crosby he wants to get out of their business partnership, while Sarah will be forced to give Hank an answer to his proposal.

NBC also released a sneak peak video, published on Entertainment Weekly, of Julia asking Sarah for advice about marrying Hank while the two are working out in the park.

According to AceShowBiz.com, the official synopsis reads as follows:

"Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) and Camille (Bonnie Bedelia) discover a bundle of old rolls of film, and they ask Max (Max Burkholder) to develop the mysterious photos. Sarah (Lauren Graham) overanalyzes Hank's (Ray Romano) offer with Julia (Erika Christensen), and the sisters spew their relationship fears. Adam (Peter Krause) decides the future of the Luncheonette with Crosby (Dax Shepard), but Jasmine (Joy Bryant) unexpectedly intervenes."

TV Guide also dropped spoilers about the upcoming series finale, "May God Bless and Keep You Always," on Jan. 29. During the episode, actor John Corbett will reprise his role as Seth, Sarah's ex and Amber and Drew's deadbeat father. Matt Lauria will also guest star as Ryan, Amber's former lover, and the father of her child. Plus, actress Sarah Ramos will return as Haddie, Adam and Kristina's eldest daughter.

Season 6, Episode 11, of "Parenthood," "Let's Go Home" airs on Thursday, Jan. 15, on NBC.
