Fret not Delena fans: new spoilers suggest that Damon and Elena will end up getting back together when "The Vampire Diaries" returns from its winter hiatus.

During the 2015 Winter TCA press tour, "The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder hinted that there will be a happy ending for Elena and Damon, which is something that he feels the couple "deserve[s]," reports HollywoodLife.com.

"The three or four [or] five months that were skipped over, the honeymoon phase, you don't typically get to see Damon in a time and space where he's truly happy," said Somerhalder at the TCA conference held at the Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa in Pasadena on Jan. 11. "It's great to see anyone happy at any time. They've been through a lot. Love trumps all. So when you see, you want it to win."

Executive producer Julie Plec also announced that viewers will say goodbye to Elena's little brother and Bonnie's boyfriend, Jeremy, played by Steven McQueen, in Episode 14.

"We're saying goodbye to Steven McQueen," Plec confirmed to E! News.

However, that does not mean that Jeremy Gilbert will be killed off.

"I wouldn't dare kill Jeremy. I think that would be all forms of cruelty," Plec clarified. "But I do think that he's a man now, he's not a little kid anymore and he's got to live his life. It's time for him to get started doing that."

According to showrunner Caroline Dries, they decided to remove Jeremy from the show in order to allow the characters to grow.

"As we continue to grow, and add new characters and grow up our characters, every year we assess where our characters are and we decide is it time for them to grow up and move on, is it time for them to die. Where are they going? What can their departure do to other characters? What can their departure do for their own character?" she told E! News.

In addition, Plec teased that there is a strong possibility that more actors will depart from the series, which was just recently renewed for a seventh season.

"Every goodbye now is going to feel so powerful and so emotional because it's real. As we move forward in subsequent seasons, there might be more people we say goodbye to as well," she says.

Season 6, Episode 11 of "The Vampire Diaries," titled "Woke Up With a Monster," will air Thursday, Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
