Meghan Trainor recently confirmed collaborating with Harry Styles on a love song called "Someday Maybe."

The "All About That Bass" hitmaker revealed to The Sun that she and the One Direction heartthrob hit up the studio to record a track together:

"It's real," she said. "It's a duet. It's a beautiful song we wrote together on my ukulele. We even recorded a rough demo together with our vocals together. It's a cute acoustic love thing. It's one of the first cool things I got to do with a pop star."

How did Trainor and Styles end up working together?

"A friend of mine said Harry was a fan and said he would love to write with me," Trainor explained.

Although the blonde pop star first doubted the British artist's song writing skills, she was quite impressed to discover his creativity and maturity.

"He's an incredible writer, too. I was worried he'd just be a 20-year-old boy. So I walked in with a prepared verse and chorus," she said. "But he gave me very poetic, mature lyrics. I was like, 'Well, damn, Harry, you know what love is.'"

Trainor was asked if there is anything romantic going on between her and Styles.

"No, definitely not -- we're good friends," she responded. "But I adore all the One Direction boys. Every time I meet them I'm like, 'Hi, you're all perfect.' But they're One Direction. And I'm just a girl from Massachusetts. Plus, I can't date another pop star. They're all too busy."

Styles has been secretive about his love life lately. Heat magazine recently reported he went on a private date with Emma Watson last month. The couple reportedly went to the Manchester United vs. Newcastle soccer game together on Dec. 26, 2014.

"They were careful not to be seen with each other," a source said. "We saw Harry when he was heading to the toilets and when we went to the bookies next to the boxes, everyone was talking about them being there together."

Although they have yet to comment on the recent claims, the pair's romance is a possibility since Watson, broke up with Oxford University rugby player Matthew Janney that same month.
