Maybe all it takes is the spiritual Mexican holiday, Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), to conjure up emotions of life and death and rekindle the romance between "Twilight" actors, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. So can the former couple live without each other?

The pair, who initially won the hearts of millions of "Twi-hards," before Stewart reportedly went astray and had an affair with a married man, ("Snow White and the Huntsman" Director Rupert Sanders) were pictured celebrating Día de los Muertos together in Los Angeles on Nov. 2.

"Rob and Kristen went to check out the scene at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Saturday night, Nov. 2," a source says. "There was a huge celebration for Día de los Muertos with tons of costumes and bands. They just mixed in with the crowd and acted like a normal couple just hanging out," Entertainmentwise reports.

Día de los Muertos, which traditionally starts at midnight on the night of Oct. 31 and continues until Nov. 2, is a spiritual celebration where the living honors and celebrates the memory of loved ones who have died.

Given that its origins are distinctly Mexican, el Día de los Muertos has become one of the biggest holidays in Mexico. According to researchers its history runs deep, during the time of the Aztecs, a month-long summer celebration was overseen by the goddess Mictecacihuatl, the Lady of the Dead. After the Aztecs were conquered by Spain and Catholicism became the dominant religion, the customs became intertwined with the Christian commemoration of All Saints' Day on Nov. 1.

Earlier this week, the former couple was spotted leaving Pattinson's Beverly Hills home on Friday (Nov. 1) after reportedly spending four hours together. Stewart was photographed leaving Pattinson's gated community in her blue Toyota pickup truck while Pattinson followed close behind her in his silver Jeep, according to The Huffington Post.

The pair's meeting ended abruptly, once they realized they were being followed by paparazzi. Pattinson reportedly turned around and headed back to his house while a visibly annoyed Stewart gave paparazzi the middle finger.

Stewart and Pattinson's courtship lasted for three years before officially ending things in May. Despite trying to reconcile, following Stewart's cheating scandal in July 2012, the pair decided to go their separate ways.

"There was lots of animosity after the split, but as time moved on they moved on and they gradually got over it," a source told E! News. "They are cordial now."

While many fans hope for the former couple's reconciliation, the two have been keeping busy over the past few months. Pattinson has been working on his latest feature, "Maps to the Stars," while Stewart has been working on films, "Camp X-Ray" and "Sils Maria." According to Pop Sugar, it was rumored that Pattinson had moved on from Stewart with Sean Penn and Robin Wright's, daughter, Dylan Penn, although there hasn't been much romance news from the pair since September.
